What does EVE Market Scanner actually do?
It scans the Jita (The Forge) market in EVE Online and surfaces items with the biggest buy/sell spreads, so you can spot profitable trading opportunities without manually browsing thousands of orders in-game.
How current is the price data?
Prices reflect the last market scan, not a live feed. A full scan walks every page of Jita/The Forge orders and takes several minutes, so refresh or re-scan for the latest numbers rather than assuming it's real-time.
Do I need to link my EVE character?
No — Browse Market and the opportunity scanner work without linking anything. Linking a character via EVE SSO is optional and only needed if you want to see your own active orders (flagged if you've been outbid) and wallet balance/transactions inside the app.
Is my EVE account safe to link?
Character linking uses EVE's own official SSO login (the same system EVE uses for third-party tools) — your EVE password is never entered into or seen by this site. You grant a limited, specific set of permissions (orders, wallet, skills) that can be revoked at any time from your EVE account settings.
How do I get an account?
Register with a username and password from the home page. New accounts need to be approved by an admin before they can use the scanner — this usually doesn't take long.
